CHANCELLOR’S LEADERSHIP AWARD: Iola’s Parker Prahl is the recipient of the UWS-Stevens Point College of Professional Studies’ Chancellor’s Leadership Award. Students are a select group of graduating seniors who, throughout their careers at UW-Stevens Point, have demonstrated significant leadership, engaged in campus and/or community service, and shown a commitment to personal growth. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May. Congratulations Parker!
NEW COUNTY BOARD CHAIR: Scandinavia’s Jim Nygaard has been elected as the new Waupaca County Board of Supervisors chair. Serving as vice chair is Joel Bartel of Fremont.
SAVE THE DATE: “A Day on the Lake” fundraiser for Scandinavia’s Silver Lake Management Committee will be held on Sunday, May 17, at Jorgens Park Preserve. It will have a picnic lunch, a silent auction, free games and music, and educational displays.
SONG FEST: Save the dates of July 17-19 for the Iola-Scandinavia Song Fest, which will feature groups and individuals playing at Iola Mills, Lessons from the Art, Odin & Freja’s Place, and Iola Coffee Co.
