The Thunderbird Booster Club calls on community members, local businesses, families, and T-Bird fans to join as members or make donations to sustain vital co-curricular activities for Iola-Scandinavia students.
The club bridges the gap between limited school budgets and the full costs of high-quality programs. Its financial contributions directly support transportation to competitions, team apparel, lodging for state events, and other essential expenses that enrich student experiences.
Recent examples of booster-funded initiatives include transportation for DECA’s district competition, Quiz Bowl shirts for participants and coaches, expenses for the I-S Band convention trip, FCCLA State Leadership Conference costs, lodging and transportation for Track & Field’s state event, softball’s Florida Spring Training trip, post-prom activities with prizes and food, basketball summer league registration and the Hudl subscription that lets fans stream games online.
Support comes in multiple forms. Individuals can become members and join a network of volunteers who work events, operate concession stands, and help decide how funds get distributed. Direct donations address immediate high-priority needs across sports and clubs. Community volunteers, whether booster members or not, can staff concessions and designate $6 per hour to an I-S middle or high school student account to help offset trip and activity costs.
The club welcomes parents of current students, alumni, and local business owners alike. Its leaders emphasize that investing in the booster club strengthens the character, health, and future of local youth while keeping Thunderbird spirit strong.
