State Rep. Brent Jacobson

State Rep. Brent Jacobson receives the prestigious Working for Wisconsin Award from the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce for his consistent voting record in support of economic growth and job creation. The statewide chamber of commerce and manufacturers’ association honors Jacobson during the ongoing 2025-2026 legislative session, a period marked by intense debates over state tax structures, workforce shortages, and regulatory reform aimed at boosting regional commerce.

The association presents the award at its Member Economic Briefing event in Mosinee, Wisconsin. Organizers hold the ceremony on Sept. 21 to recognize lawmakers who demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing policies that support a competitive business climate.

The organization determines its honorees through a data-driven process based entirely on individual voting records, regardless of a legislator’s political affiliation. To qualify for the award, lawmakers must achieve at least a 70 percent rating on the association’s Legislative Scorecard by voting for reforms that make the state more attractive to employers, workers, and entrepreneurs.

“Wisconsin’s economic success depends on leaders who are willing to champion policies that encourage investment, innovation, and job creation,” Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce President and CEO Kurt R. Bauer says.

Association officials emphasize that while all state legislators face evaluation each session, only those who steadily support pro-growth policies earn the distinction.

“Rep. Jacobson is committed to making Wisconsin competitive; we are fortunate for his leadership in growing our economy and improving the business climate,” association Executive Vice President of Government Relations Scott Manley says.
