The Scandinavia Village Board approved a temporary beer license for the local baseball club and set compensation for the village dam operator during its regular monthly meeting on May 12 in the Community Room at the Municipal Center.

President David Mork called the meeting to order at 5 p.m. with Trustees Mike Hayes, Kelton Wilhite, Kyle Swenson and Dan Koehler, Clerk Alison Dunham, Deputy Clerk Mike Stockwell and Treasurer Bob Fredy present.

The board unanimously approved its May agenda and April meeting minutes. It then accepted a $2,500 donation from the Scandinavia Booster Club, presented by club President Adam Blohm, to help cover mowing costs at Ellison Memorial Park.

In other business, the board granted a six-month Class “B” beer license to the Scandinavia Vikings Baseball Club, Inc. upon payment of the $100 fee. It also approved operator licenses for Karen Thulien, Jeremy Moe and Jesse Dickert, each upon payment of a $10 fee.

On the dam operator compensation item, Mork and Koehler recused themselves. The remaining trustees voted 3-0 to pay the village dam operator 10% of annual revenue received by the village from the dam owner.

The board also voted unanimously to begin the process of amending village ordinances to establish a recurring billing and invoices procedure. The change would allow the village treasurer to utilize a $500 cap for such payments.

Members reviewed non-profit financial statements, year-to-date financials presented by Treasurer Fredy, and verified cash fund balances. The board approved bills as presented.

The meeting temporarily adjourned at 5:46 p.m. for a Board of Review session and reconvened at 5:49 p.m. It adjourned for the evening at 5:58 p.m. Updates were also provided on zoning and sewer matters, and Trustee Wilhite said he would contact Outagamie County regarding possible assistance with stray cats and dogs.
