The Scandinavia Town Board convened Tuesday, April 8, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center and approved zoning changes while reviewing local road maintenance efforts following a major snowstorm.
Chair Bryan Fuhs called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with board members Brenda Mazemke, Lonnie Pryzbylski, Frank Bauer and Mike Mazemke present. Public attendees included Ricky Ertl and Jim Nygaard.
The board unanimously approved the meeting agenda, accepted the clerk’s minutes from the previous session and received the treasurer’s report. As of March 31, the check register balance stood at $117,816.83.
In new business, the board approved a comprehensive plan amendment and a zone map amendment. Frank Bauer made the motions for both items, which Lonnie Pryzbylski seconded. The board also approved a resolution. Discussion of a Protect Local Roads resolution was tabled until the May meeting.
Road issues received attention during reports. Officials noted that snow plowing during and after the recent major storm proceeded smoothly thanks to regular drivers and resident assistance. Brush cleanup continued, and spring road work was underway. The board scheduled the annual road inspection for April with Scott Construction, with a report expected at the next meeting. A bi-annual bridge inspection will be handled by the Waupaca County Highway Department.

The board approved payment of presented bills, including expenses to the Village of Scandinavia, IMT Insurance, Lashua Inc., the Village of Iola, Waupaca County, and others. Officials reviewed land use permits and a notice of intent to cut timber.
During public input, Jim Nygaard mentioned available grants to support rural roads.
