The Scandinavia Town Board convened Wednesday, June 10, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center and approved multiple liquor licenses while receiving updates on local road maintenance projects.

Board Chair Bryan Fuhs called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with members Brenda Mazemke, Lonnie Pryzbylski, Frank Bauer, and Mike Mazemke present. Ricky Ertl attended from the public.

In new business, the board unanimously approved a Class “B” Beer and Liquor License for Silver Lake Lanes. It also granted operator’s licenses to 16 individuals associated with the business: Kevin Kielblock, April Niemi, Delany Timdal, Jared Thulien, Karen Thulien, Amy Burgoyne, Vicky Koss, Stacy Donovan, Robert Fredy, Matthew Michalek, Justin Mork, Jeremy Moe, Cindy Boutwell, Connie Trinkner, Brooklyn Berrens, and Ian Koss.

The board further approved a temporary Class “B”/Class “B” Retailer’s License and an operator’s license for Krista Enoch in connection with the Iola Car Show, Inc.

The board accepted the treasurer’s report for May, which showed a check register balance of $108,791.63 as of May 31. It also approved payment of bills to several vendors, including the Village of Scandinavia, Swenson Tree Service & Logging, Iola Ambulance Service, Multimedia Channels, and Office Outfitters.

On road issues, officials reported that Swenson Tree Service and Logging planned to begin the first ditch mowing pass at the end of June, with a fall pass scheduled for the end of September. Scott Construction was set to start wedging roads at the end of June, followed by chip sealing three weeks later on scheduled routes. Crews expected to fill potholes by the end of the month.

In old business, the board noted ongoing work with Waupaca County Zoning on the Vandyke Junk/Salvage Yard, progress on Randy Stuczynski’s Oak Ridge Road project after the Iola Car Show, and confirmation of a bi-annual bridge inspection by the Waupaca County Highway Department. The Municipal Center parking lot project moved to 2027 and was removed from the agenda. The Iola Ambulance Service new ambulance remained on schedule for 2027.

The board scheduled its Board of Review for June 29 at 5:30 p.m., with potential adjournment to a later date, and noted an opening on the Town of Scandinavia Board.

The next regular board meeting is set for Wednesday, July 22, at 5:30 p.m. at the Scandinavia Municipal Center.
