WAUPACA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE is seeking the public’s help to identify a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash in Symco. The incident occurred on Friday evening around 6 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 110 and State Highway 22. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a gray or silver 2009-2014 Ford F-150 with front-end damage. (Source: WBAY)

DEER TICKS: New findings from the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute’s Tick Inventory via Citizen Science study show 51% of 700 adult female deer ticks carry the pathogen that causes Lyme disease. Read the WSAW news story here.
PFAS LIMITS: Some policy experts say Wisconsin’s drinking water standards for PFAS could be vulnerable to a legal challenge after the Environmental Protection Agency announced plans to roll back limits for some chemicals. Marquette University’s Dave Strifling said state and federal law dictate Wisconsin’s rules may be no less stringent than federal requirements under the Safe Drinking Water Act. Portage County DET. SGT. RESIGNS: A former detective sergeant for the Portage Police Department resigned from the force a day after he was arrested for crashing a UTV and injuring one of his three passengers in May 2025. ONE PERSON DIED and another was injured when two semi-trucks collided on northbound I-43 near Big Bend in Waukesha County early Thursday morning. One truck rear-ended the other around 6 a.m., shutting down the highway for hours as crews cleared debris. The surviving driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. (Source: WISN 12)
A 22-YEAR-OLD MILWAUKEE WOMAN was charged after authorities said she carelessly discarded a cigarette that sparked a five-alarm fire destroying a vacant warehouse on the city’s north side Wednesday evening. The building was ordered razed due to instability. (Source: FOX6)
