Staff, children, patrons, business leaders and other community members gathered Friday, Aug. 28, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating a new chapter for Young Impressions Community Child Care in Iola.

Iola-Scandinavia Daycare Properties Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, purchased the building with major donations from the Krause Foundation, the Doll family, Community Insurance and Greg Loescher. Premier Community Bank also supported the effort by providing favorable financing terms for the purchase.

During the open house, the Sprangers family presented a donation to Young Impressions Daycare in memory of Lenore Sprangers. The gift honored Sprangers’ love of caring for others, especially children.

The event had a festive atmosphere, with cake and desserts served to attendees.
