On Oct. 30^, 2025,  the current owner notified Young Impressions Daycare of the desire to sell the building, which has housed the daycare since 1992, when it was run by Janine Beauchaine.

To help with the purchase of the building, Iola-Scandinavia Daycare Properties Inc.,  a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed this summer.

Through major donations from the Krause Foundation, The Doll Family, and Greg Loescher, enough money was raised to make the down payment and keep the mortgage payment manageable for Young Impressions.  Community Insurance and Premier Community Bank also made additional donations and provided favorable financing terms to help with the purchase.

On Thursday, Aug. 27, the purchase of the daycare property will be completed for $250,000. The current owner offered the property to the non-profit for a very favorable price below market value.

Iola-Scandinavia Daycare Properties has a 5–10-year goal to pay down and eventually pay off the property debt to help secure and maintain a fully licensed, affordable daycare facility in the Iola-Scandinavia area for years to come.   

An Open House Ribbon Cutting will take place on Friday, Aug. 28, at 3 p.m. at Young Impressions, located at 535 Water Street (County Road J) near the Taylor Field / Olson Park exit. Cake, brownies, and punch will be served.

The open house will also include a donation presented from the Sprangers family to Young Impressions Daycare. The donation is being made in memory of Lenore Sprangers in honor of her love of care for others, especially children.
