The Lake Iola Lake District will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, June 13, with members set to vote on a 2026-27 budget that maintains the property tax levy at this year’s level and elect a board member.
The meeting will take place from 10-11 a.m. at Village Hall in Iola. District property owners and stakeholders will consider routine reports and key financial and governance decisions during the one-hour session.
Following a call to order and approval of the agenda, officials will present the secretary’s report, treasurer’s report and chairman’s report. The agenda then turns to new business, where voters will consider electing a three-year board member. Judy Enz’s term is expiring, and she has been nominated for another term.
Budget items will form a central part of the discussion. Members will vote on allocating $20,000 for harvester operator, helper, and harvester manager salaries and $15,000 for harvester maintenance costs. If the proposed budget is adopted, the district’s 2026 property tax levy will remain at $44,349 — unchanged from 2025.
The meeting will also allow for any other business that may legally come before it before adjournment.
The annual gathering gives Lake Iola property owners an opportunity to review district operations, approve spending for aquatic plant management equipment and set the upcoming year’s tax levy.
