KESHENA – The Iola-Scandinavia softball team beat Menominee Nation, 21-3, on Monday, May 18, in the final CWC-East game of the season.

The Thunderbirds held a slim 4-3 lead after two innings, but scored seven runs in the third inning and added five more runs each in the fourth and fifth innings. The game ended in the fifth inning due to the 15-run rule after three innings. The T-Birds finished in third place with a record of 10-4 and have an overall record of 15-6.
Brylee Jueds led the T-Birds with three hits, including a double, and had four RBIs. Brooklyn Berrens, Rayanne Clendenning, Braelyn Jueds, and Maggie Maus each had two hits. Berrens hit a grand slam in the fourth inning. Clendenning had a double, and Maus had two doubles and two RBIs. Taedym Peskie had the first hit of her high school career, and it was a double in the fifth inning.
Clendenning started and pitched the first two innings to earn the win. Charlotte Isermann pitched the final three innings. Clendenning had no walks and two strikeouts, while Isermann also had no walks and three strikeouts.
The varsity and junior varsity teams will travel to Nekoosa on Tuesday, May 19, to play a pair of non-conference games. The varsity game will start at 4:30 p.m., and the junior varsity game will start at about 6 p.m.
