SHIOCTON – The Iola-Scandinavia softball team beat Shiocton, 15-4, in a CWC-East game on Tuesday, May 12. The Thunderbirds broke open a 5-2 game with eight runs in the sixth inning, with all eight runs being scored after two outs.

The T-Birds improved their conference record to 9-3 and their overall record to 13-3.

Brooklyn Berrens (left) had three hits including a triple and two RBIs, Braelyn Jueds (middle) had five hits including a double, and Brylee Jueds had three hits and four RBIs.

Iola-Scandinavia outhit Shiocton 17-11. Braelyn Jueds had five hits, including a double in the seventh inning. Brooklyn Berrens and Brylee Jueds each had three hits. Berrens had a two-run triple in the sixth inning. Brylee Jueds finished the game with four RBIs. Maddie Karolus had two hits and three RBIs. Maggie Maus had a double and drove in two runs in the game.

Rayanne Clendenning pitched all seven innings to earn the win. She allowed four walks and had three strikeouts.

The varsity team will host Wittenberg-Birnamwood on Thursday, May 14, in a CWC-East game.  The game will start at 4:30 p.m.
