The Iola-Scandinavia softball team rallied from behind to beat Manawa, 9-8, in a CWC-East game on Tuesday, April 21, at home.

Trailing 6-0 in the fourth inning, the T-Birds scored three runs in the fourth inning and six more runs in the fifth inning, and then held onto the 9-8 victory. The win improves the Thunderbirds to 2-2 conference and 4-2 overall.
Iola-Scandinavia outhit Manawa 13-9. Brooklyn Berrens, Rayanne Clendenning, Brylee Jueds, Maggie Maus, and Ava Printz each had two hits. Berrens had a run-scoring double in the fifth inning. Charlotte Isermann drove in two runs on her double in the fifth inning, and Braelyn Jueds had a double in the first inning. Rayanne Clendenning had a two-run single in the fourth inning and a one-run triple in the fifth inning.
Pitcher Rayanne Clendenning went the distance to earn the win. Clendenning allowed three walks and four strikeouts. The Iola-Scandinavia defense struggled, committing six errors.

The junior varsity team also beat Manawa, 13-5, after the varsity game on Tuesday, April 21.
Iola-Scandinavia will host Laona/Wabeno in a non-conference game on Friday, April 24. The game is set to start at 4:30 p.m.
