JP Media LLC today announced the sale of its publishing titles to Ferg Press LLC. The transaction is scheduled to be completed on July 6, marking a new chapter for several well-established publications while ensuring continuity for readers, advertisers, and industry partners.
Under the agreement, Cessna Owner Organization, Piper Owner Society, and Sunshine Artist will continue publication under the ownership of Ferg Press LLC of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Readers and subscribers can expect a seamless transition, as the current staff members responsible for these publications will remain in place and continue serving their respective audiences.
“We are pleased to see these trusted brands move forward with a company that shares our commitment to quality publishing and community engagement,” said Diana Jones, president of JP Media. “Maintaining the talented teams behind these publications was an important priority throughout the process.”
Ferg Press LLC is owned by Carie Ferg, a former employee of Jones Publishing (the predecessor of JP Media), where she began her publishing career as the editor of the company’s aviation titles shortly after graduating from college. She spent many years handling various marketing and publishing roles at Jones Publishing and beyond.
In 2013 Ferg left publishing and spent more than a decade as an educator, serving students and communities as a teacher. She now returns to the publishing industry with a deep appreciation for the role these publications play in connecting and serving their audiences.
“I am thrilled to return to an industry that helped shape my professional career,” said Carie Ferg, owner of Ferg Press LLC. “Beginning my career as editor of the aviation titles gave me an appreciation for the passion and loyalty of niche publishing audiences. My years in education reinforced the importance of communication, community, and lifelong learning — values that align closely with these publications. I have tremendous respect for the teams behind Cessna Owner Organization, Piper Owner Society, and Sunshine Artist, and I look forward to working alongside them to continue delivering exceptional content and service to readers and advertisers.”
Ferg added that acquiring the aviation publications is especially meaningful because of her history with those brands and the relationships she developed during her time at Jones Publishing. All employees of the titles will be retained by Ferg Press.
The transition is designed to ensure uninterrupted service and ongoing support for subscribers, advertisers, contributors, and business partners. The editorial teams will continue to produce the content and resources that readers have come to rely on.
Ferg Press LLC expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition and the opportunity to build upon the strong foundations established by JP Media while investing in the future growth of these respected brands.
Additional information regarding the transition will be communicated directly to subscribers, advertisers, and stakeholders as the July 6, 2026, transfer date approaches.
