Jeanette C. Peterson

November 3, 1936 – July 21, 2026

Jeanette C. Peterson, 89, of Iola, Wisconsin, formerly of Amherst Junction, Wisconsin, passed away on July 21, 2026, at Living Oaks Assisted Living in Iola.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1936, in Amherst Junction to Almer and Lettie (Kolden) Peterson.

Jeanette graduated from Amherst High School in 1955.

Jeanette went to work at the Amherst Telephone Company as a switchboard operator at the Nelsonville Office and also worked at HO Wolding Trucking in the office for a few years. In later years, she was a caregiver for Portage County and by Anna Maday as a caregiver.

Jeannette enjoyed gardening, embroidery work, watching game shows on TV, and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Rosemarie Peterson, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Almer and Lettie Peterson, and brother, Arlyn Peterson.

The funeral service for Jeanette will be held on Wednesday, July 29, at 2 p.m. at the Nelsonville Lutheran Church with Rev. Dwight Anderson officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. Interment will follow at the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery.
