James “Jim” R. Erickson

March 25, 1949 – August 19, 2026

James “Jim” R. Erickson, age 77, of Waupaca, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026.
Jim was born on March 25, 1949, in Iola, Wisconsin, to the late Russell and Dorothy (Armon) Erickson. After graduating from high school, Jim proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for three years.

Following his military service, Jim began a career with the Waupaca County Highway Department, where he worked as a supervisor until his retirement. He took great pride in his work and in serving his community.

On Dec. 12, 2024, Jim married Sandra “Sandy” Hunter in Waupaca. Together, they shared a special chapter of life filled with companionship and love.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors and cherished time spent hunting and fishing. He was also an avid football fan and always enjoyed following the game.

Jim will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Erickson of Waupaca; sisters, Lynn Erickson of Appleton, and Dawn (Randy) Birling of Weyauwega; a special nephew, Craig Hunter of Crystal Falls, Michigan; daughters, Revea Erickson and Jennifer (James) Kirk of Waupaca; also many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Per Jim’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
