The Iola Village Board will meet Tuesday, Oct. 13, to consider major new business, including replacing a police officer, implementing $500 business grants, and adopting a comprehensive outdoor recreation plan. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Iola Village Hall, located at 180 S. Main St.

The board will vote on whether to accept Patrolman H. Jankowski’s resignation. If accepted, trustees will consider posting the open patrolman position with a starting wage of $30 per hour.

Economic development is also on the agenda. Trustees will consider allocating $500 from the village revitalization fund for each Spruce Up Business Assistance Grant. Proposed recipients include Refocus Eyecare Center LLC, SKITO Saddle Pads, and TOO DARS Diner.

The board will also review the Village of Iola Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan, prepared by the East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.

Other agenda items include a presentation by Iola-Scandinavia School Superintendent Chris Nelson and the approval of new WEX Fleet Cards for village vehicle fuel purchases. Trustees will vote on paying a $1,573 fee for the North Central Wisconsin Municipal Court 2027 budget.

The board will consider two property variances. The first is a fence variance at 410 E. Ellefson St. to place a fence on the east lot line. The second item notes a motion to grant a variance allowing the west side of a house at 120 Frontage Road to be built no closer than 20 feet from the centerline of the road.

The public meeting will follow Robert’s Rules of Order. Attendees will have an opportunity to speak during a public presentation segment, limited to 2 minutes per person.
