The Town of Iola Board decided against creating an official Facebook page and received roadwork updates during its regular meeting on June 29.

Chairman Mark Sprangers called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. Board members present were Sprangers, Supervisor Bruce Faldet, Supervisor Steve Madson, Treasurer Denis Walter and Clerk Justin Moen. Also present were Waupaca County Circuit Court Judge Diane L. Meulemans of Branch 3 and Rick Ertl.

Madson moved to approve the agenda, with Sprangers seconding; the motion carried. Sprangers moved to approve the May meeting minutes; Madson seconded, and the motion carried.

In public comments, Meulemans introduced herself to the board.

Under old business, the board noted that Scott Construction Inc. was working on wedging projects, the first round of tree cutting was complete, and all ice storm cleanup payments had been handled.

In new business, the Honken survey map was reported as completed. After discussion, Madson moved that the town not create a Facebook page at this time. Faldet seconded the motion, which carried.

Moen informed the board of three permits: a land use permit for Calvin Krueger and Jodi Edmunds for a shed and shipping container; a shoreland permit for Lucas and Mikayla Cate for a shed with apron and service door pad; and a land use permit for Henry and Rosetta Glick for a detached garage.

Faldet and Madson approved the town books. Madson moved to pay the monthly bills, Faldet seconded, and the motion carried. The meeting then adjourned.
