The Iola-Scandinavia High School varsity volleyball team moved to 13-9 after five matches between Sept. 19 and Sept. 24.

The Thunderbirds kicked off the multi-match run on Saturday, Sept. 19, with tournament play, where they went 3-2 over the weekend. Iola-Scandinavia opened the action with a 2-0 victory over Ripon High School, anchored by senior setter Emma Printz, who collected 19 assists, four aces, and three digs. Braelyn Jueds added 14 digs defensively. Later that day, the Thunderbirds fell just short against Clintonville High School in a tight 2-1 battle despite Printz contributing 19 assists and nine digs.

Iola-Scandinavia bounced back later in the tournament with a 2-0 sweep over the Valders Vikings, led by sophomore Ruby Maus, who registered nine digs and four aces. Printz added 15 assists to help secure the win. The Thunderbirds also added a 2-0 victory against Shawano Community High School but dropped a 2-0 decision to Wabeno/Laona High School during the busy Saturday slate.

Following the tournament weekend, the Thunderbirds returned to regular-season action on Wednesday, Sept. 23, routing Menominee Nation 3-0 on the road. However, the busy stretch caught up to Iola-Scandinavia on Thursday, Sept. 24, when they dropped a close 3-2 nonconference decision to Weyauwega-Fremont High School.
