The Iola-Scandinavia School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at the Elementary School, 450 Division St., Room 6, in Iola to consider resolutions authorizing the district budget to exceed the revenue limit for four years for non-recurring purposes and providing for a referendum election on the question.

Board members will also review a seclusion and restraint report for the 2025-26 school year and act on an overnight volleyball trip request under new business.

In committee reports, the Building and Grounds Committee, chaired by Boris, will present two asphalt maintenance quotes. The Personnel and Nominations Committee, chaired by Kirmse, will consider hiring recommendations for volunteer coaches: Jack Vater as cross country coach and Grant Fredy and Ryan Kampert as middle school/high school football coaches.

The Finance Committee, chaired by Krogwold with lay members Erikka Flowers and Mark Sether, will provide a budget update. Other committees, including Transportation, Curriculum, Policy and Legislation, and Negotiations, are also scheduled to report.

Under old business, the board will receive a strategic plan update. Administration reports will cover updates from the facilities director, principal, and administrator. School board news will include WASB and CESA 5 meeting updates.

The agenda includes public input, with speakers required to register beforehand by providing name, address, and topic. Consent items for approval will cover July 13 board minutes, Aug. 3 working committee minutes, checks, the treasurer’s report, pupil activity accounts, fundraiser requests, and gifts and donations.

District presentations are also planned. Future agenda items note the next regular meeting for 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the same location, with no working committee meetings on Labor Day-related dates in September and October.
