The Iola-Scandinavia Fitness & Aquatic Center

The Iola-Scandinavia Community Fitness and Aquatic Center is expanding community wellness opportunities today by introducing updated membership pricing for district and non-district residents at its comprehensive facility. The new tiered pricing framework aims to broaden access to physical fitness and aquatic recreation for individuals and families of all ages.

The facility provides flexible access methods, allowing participants to purchase memberships on a daily, monthly, six-month, or annual basis. Patrons can choose single-area access to either the pool or the fitness center, or a comprehensive combination membership that grants full use of both spaces.

Group exercise options are a primary motivator for community members who prefer exercising in social environments. The center structures its standard class packages at $40 for eight classes, $72 for 16 classes, $102 for 24 classes, and $128 for 32 classes. Specialized programs, including Strong Bones and Melt classes, utilize a separate pricing structure. Class coordinator Cheryl Ziemann manages inquiries and registration for these specialized group sessions.

The weight room accommodates varied daily schedules, operating from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Saturdays. The cardio area features treadmills, stationary bikes, ellipticals, a spin bike, and a stair stepper. For strength conditioning, the facility maintains selectorized machines, cable machines, free weights, and plate-loaded weights.

Aquatic activities take place in two distinct pool areas designed for different training needs. Early-morning swimmers utilize the six-lane lap pool, which features a diving board and opens at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. Recreational users and families utilize the adjacent leisure pool, which features water geysers, a water slide, a whirlpool, and a zero-depth entry design.

The center ensures full accessibility across all programs by equipping both pools with chair lifts and easy-entry access points. This design standard allows individuals of all physical abilities to utilize the aquatic amenities as the facility seeks to connect residents through regular athletic and recreational activities.
