Local Iola Historical Society members will gather Tuesday, May 26, at the Machine Shed, 222 Depot Street, for their monthly board and membership meetings, where they will reflect on recent activities, plan upcoming community events, and hear an overview of Iola’s American Legion post.

The board will meet at 5:30 p.m., followed by the membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will discuss after-action reflections from prior events and a Memorial Day salute to veterans. They will also review plans for “Ready, Set, Go,” the Strawberry Fest & Collectibles scheduled for June 28, and call for membership support with upcoming events, projects, and docent duties.

At 7 p.m., Mike Richberg will present “Iola’s American Legion Story,” covering the post’s past, present, and future, along with details on Memorial Day observances and Legion Park. Richberg’s talk will highlight the organization’s connections to local veterans and community landmarks.
