
The Iola Historical Society will hold its monthly membership meeting on Monday, March 30, at the Machine Shed, 222 Depot Street in Iola, where members will review plans for the organization’s 2026 events and projects and watch the award-winning documentary “Back on Track.”
The session begins with a 5:30 p.m. board meeting, followed by the 6:30 p.m. membership meeting. The program starts at 7 p.m.
During the business session, the group will discuss its upcoming signature events. These included the Memorial Day Salute to Veterans Pork Roast, scheduled for Monday, May 26, and the Strawberry Fest & Antique Collectibles Fair, set for Sunday, June 28.
The highlight of the evening will be a screening of “Back on Track,” an award-winning documentary film produced by Iola resident Ron Scott and directed by filmmaker Max Hauser. Mike Kirk of the Waupaca Depot presents the film and provides insights into its subject.
The documentary chronicles efforts to restore the Waupaca train depot, highlighting community-driven preservation work on the historic structure.
