I-S softball shuts out Menominee Indian 14-0

KESHENA – The Lady Thunderbirds softball team beat Menominee Indian 14-0 in a CWC-East game on Tuesday, April 16. The game was stopped after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

The Thunderbirds improved their conference record to 5-0 and overall record to 6-2.

Pitcher Julia Munoz went the distance and pitched a one-hitter in the shutout victory. She gave up no walks while striking out 11 batters. The T-Bird defense committed no errors in the game.

Brooklyn Berrens had three hits while Brylee Jueds, Ava Printz, and Katie Rosenthal each had two hits for the Thunderbirds. Berrens drove in three runs while Jueds and Maya Munoz drove in two runs. Jueds and Rosenthal had a double and triple, respectively.

The junior varsity team beat Pacelli at home on Tuesday, April 16, in a rain-shortened game. The junior varsity team has a 3-0 record.

The varsity team will travel to Shiocton on Thursday, April 18, starting at 4:30 p.m. The JV team will play Hortonville at home starting at 4:30 p.m.
