The Iola-Scandinavia softball team beat Laona/Wabeno, 13-3, at home in a non-conference game on Friday, April 24.  The game was stopped in the sixth inning due to the 10-run rule. The win improves the Thunderbirds’ overall record to 5-2.

The T-Birds had a 4-3 lead after three innings but broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning. The Thunderbirds added three more insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Rayanne Clendenning pitched the six innings to earn the win. Clendenning allowed two walks and had six strikeouts. The Iola-Scandinavia defense had one error.

The junior varsity team also beat Laona/Wabeno, 10-1, after the varsity game on Friday, April 24.

Iola-Scandinavia will travel to Manawa on Monday, April 27, for a CWC-East matchup. The game is set to start at 4:30 p.m.
