BONDUEL – The Iola-Scandinavia softball team lost at Bonduel on Thursday, April 30, in a CWC-East game, 6-2. The loss drops the Thunderbirds’ conference record to 4-3 and their overall record to 7-3.

The T-Birds took an early lead by scoring their only two runs in the top of the first inning. The Bears responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning to tie the game, 2-2. Bonduel added two more runs in the third inning and went on to win the game, 6-2. 

Bonduel pounded out 16 hits to Iola-Scandinavia’s three hits. Brooklyn Berrens had two of the three hits, while Maggie Maus had the other hit and drove in the two Thunderbird runs in the first inning.

Rayanne Clendenning pitched the six innings in taking the loss. She allowed one walk and had two strikeouts. The T-Birds’ defense had one error in the game.

The junior varsity team lost to Bonduel, 1-0, after the varsity game on Thursday, April 30. The junior varsity team has a 5-3 record.

The varsity team will host St Mary’s Catholic in a non-conference game at home on Friday, May 1, starting at 4:30 pm.
