WILD ROSE – The Iola-Scandinavia softball team beat Wild Rose, 20-0, on Tuesday, May 19, in a non-conference game. The game ended in the third inning due to the 15-run rule after three innings.
The Thunderbirds were originally scheduled to play at Nekoosa, but the field in Nekoosa was unplayable due to wet conditions. Fortunately, the T-Birds were able to pick up a game at the last minute at Wild Rose. With the win, the T-Birds have a 16-6 overall record.

Rayanne Clendenning (left) pitched a three-inning no-hitter, hit a two-run home run in the first inning, and had a double. Sisters Ava Printz (center) and Emma Printz (right) each had two-run doubles.
Maya Munoz led Iola-Scandinavia with three hits. Brooklyn Berrens, Rayanne Clendenning, and Maggie Maus each had two hits. Berrens had a double and five RBIs. Clendenning had a double and a two-run home run in the first inning. Clendenning finished with four RBIs. Brylee Jueds had a one-run triple in the first inning. Ava Printz and her sister Emma Printz each had two-run doubles in the third inning. Ava finished with three RBIs, and Emma with two RBIs.
Rayanne Clendenning started and pitched the three innings to earn the win. She allowed no hits, had four walks, and three strikeouts.
The varsity team will play Amherst in a non-conference game on Thursday night under the lights at Nelson Park at Freddie’s Home Plate, starting at 7 p.m. The Iola-Scandinavia middle-school team will play the Amherst middle-school team before the varsity game at 4:30 p.m.
