According to Iola-Scandinavia School District Administrator Chris Nelson, the Board decided to forgo outside firms for the creation, distribution, and analysis of a community survey.
One of those quotes from School Perceptions was for $7,200. See the story here.
“We received quotes from two vendors — School Perceptions and The Donovan Group — but the costs exceeded what the administrative team and board were comfortable spending at this time. As a result, we have developed our own internal survey that will be presented to the board for approval at the June meeting,” he noted.
In order to “ … gather meaningful community input while being fiscally responsible during a challenging budget period,” a timeline has been established. It is as follows:
“June: Board approval of survey; distribution to community. July: Compile and analyze survey results; present findings to the board. August Board uses survey data to determine whether to pursue a November referendum and, if so, at what funding level.”
