The Helvetia Town Board will convene its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at the town hall, E2544 County Road GG in Iola. Officials will discuss the town’s insurance policy, planned 2026 road projects, and several town hall maintenance items during the open public meeting.

Treasurer’s report and approval of bills and minutes from the April 7 meeting will open the business portion following the Pledge of Allegiance. The board will then review Helvetia’s insurance policy with input from David Loken.

Road work will feature prominently in the agenda. The board will examine 2026 road projects, including shouldering, grading, and work on Moen Lake Court with Chad Bestul. It will also address patching, the accepted bid for Carper Road from the Waupaca County Highway Department, recommendations from Scott’s Construction, road brushing, and brush clean-up. Additional road items include signage and ditch clean-up by board members.

At the town hall, members will discuss floor cleaning and whether to purchase a chainsaw.

The board will also receive reports on the April 30 Fire/Ambulance meeting from Mike Grassl, review minutes from the April 21 annual meeting, and note that the fire department’s two percent dues are due in July. Planning Committee updates will come from Gary Prill.

Open Book sessions are scheduled for May 5 from 8-10 a.m. with Scott Zillmer participating remotely by phone or email. The Board of Review will meet on May 12 from 5-7 p.m.
