The Iola Lions Club celebrates Diana Jones as the newest Melvin Jones Fellow, the highest recognition from Lions Clubs International for outstanding humanitarian service.
Lions Clubs International bestows the Melvin Jones Fellowship — named for its founder — on individuals who embody the organization’s ideals through exceptional dedication to their club and community. Jones received the honor at the club’s Honors Night on Monday, May 18.
As owner of JP Media, a local business employing 12 people, Jones maintains an active presence in Waupaca County’s professional and civic spheres. Her company regularly sponsors and donates to numerous organizations and events throughout the county.
Jones serves as an active member of the Iola-Scandinavia Chamber of Commerce. She contributes time and expertise to events such as the Fourth of July Fireworks and other community celebrations. She previously served as chamber treasurer from 2023 through January 2025 and continues to assist as needed.
A dedicated member of the Iola Lions Club and former secretary of the Iola Lioness Club, Jones frequently volunteers for hands-on efforts. Her involvement includes the annual Stuff the Bus drive each August, the Lions/Leos Easter Party, and the Iola-Scandinavia High School Post Prom party. As a Lioness, she helped coordinate the Iola City-Wide Rummage Sale and continued the effort through JP Media into 2023. She also serves as assistant leader of the Iola Leos Club.
Looking ahead, Jones assumes the role of 2026 Iola Lions Club president. She additionally volunteers at the Iola Car Show and Scandinavia Corn Roast and designs the Ride for Heroes brochure each summer.
Her commitment extends to education and youth. For the past seven years, Jones served on the Iola-Scandinavia School Board, including two years as president, two years as vice president, and time as clerk. She supports her children’s activities through Pee Wee Cheerleading, school musicals, and field-trip chaperoning. She also judges DECA competitions and works at local voting polls for the Village of Iola.
Jones volunteers monthly at her church, teaching fourth- through sixth-grade students.
Through these consistent efforts across business, service clubs, education, and family activities, Jones models the spirit of Lionism and strengthens her community in Iola and Scandinavia.
