William Marshall Myers Sr.
September 14, 1940 – March 30, 2024
William Marshall Myers Sr., age 83, of Iola, Wisocnsin, passed away after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s, on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Theda Care in Appleton, Wisconsin.
He was born on Sept. 14, 1940, in the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca County, the son of the late Lee and Jeanette (Thoe) Myers.
Bill graduated from Iola High School in 1958. On Aug. 12, 1961, he was united in marriage to Jean Leiskau in Bowler, Wisconsin. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
After returning from the service, he started working at Iola Plumbing and Heating for a few years. Then he finished his career as a Supervisor at the Waupaca Foundry, retiring in 2001.
After retiring, he enjoyed bow hunting and fishing for trout and walleye. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their events.
His children survive him: Deb (Loren) Johnson, Darla (John) Williams, Bill (Angie) Myers; grandchildren: Logan (Megan) Johnson, Billy and Burkley Myers; great-granddaughter Hazel Johnson; special friend Mary Jane Bennett; eight surviving siblings; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Jean, and one brother.
A funeral service for Bill will be held on Thursday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola with Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. The burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation for Bill will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or Scandinavia Lutheran Church.
