Where Iola-Scandinavia is at with COVID-19 numbers

As of January 1, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ COVID-19 summary data, cumulative COVID-19 cases since March 15, 2020, have risen to 198 for Iola-Scandinavia, compared with 274 for Manawa-Ogdensburg, 438 for the City of Waupaca, and 1360 for the southwest quarter of Waupaca County.

By municipality, cumulative counts since March 15, 2020 are: Village of Iola 69, Town of Iola 53, Village of Scandinavia 19, Town of Scandinavia 52, Iola-Scandinavia School District (geographic area) 250, 54945 zip code 189, 54977 zip code 69. Positive cases to population is at 5 percent across the board except for the Town of Iola at 6 percent. Deaths due to COVID-19 in these locations is given as less than 5, according to the state’s summary data.

The 7-day positive rate for Iola-Scandinavia is 1.5 percent, 14-day 3.1 percent, and 21-day 6.5 percent.

Waupaca

For the City of Waupaca, cumulative positives since March 15, 2020 is 438., the Waupaca School District (geographic area) 1125, and zip code 54981 1112. Positive cases to population is 7 percent across the board for all the above. Deaths due to COVID-19 in the southwest corner of Waupaca County add up to 106, according to the state’s summary data, which is a death percentage of 5.49 percent.

The 7-day positive rate for the City of Waupaca is 3.5 percent, 14-day 5.5 percent, and 21-day 11.2 percent.

Countywide

Countywide, according to the Waupaca County COVID-19 web page, the cumulative numbers since March 15, 2020 are: Positives 4217, negatives 18,783, total tested 23,000, active today 162, total deaths 162, hospitalizations today 215.

The positive rate for total tested is 18 percent. Deaths to the number of total positives is 3 percent and the total tested is 0.59 percent. Cumulative positives to the county’s population is 8 percent. The rate burden per 100,000 population is 237 or 0.02 percent.

Immunizations

According to the state’s summary data, a total of 265,575 vaccine doses have been allocated to Wisconsin. Of that total, 156,875 have been shipped (5t9 percent) and 41,157 have been administered, which is about 30 percent. The Pfizer vaccine accounts for 40,850 of those administer and Moderna 6306. The 1A classification for frontline healthcare workers and residents and staff of long-term care facilities in the state is around 460,000 people or 8 percent of the state population, according to a Dec. 22, 2020, report by WAOW.
