What is the Iola-Scandinavia Recreation Association?

By Iola-Scandinavia Recreation Association

The Iola-Scandinavia Recreation Association (ISRA) activities are run by parent volunteers with a focus on the development of young athletes.

What is the ISRA in charge of? What programs do we all run? Those are some of the questions we have been getting lately.

The ISRA is in charge of our youth sports programs for 3-8 grade boys and girls. The sports we manage are: soccer, softball, baseball, t-ball, volleyball (5 and 6 grade only), basketball, and flag football.

We have a volunteer coordinator who assists with getting things up and running for each of those sports and works with the coaches to ensure that schedules are made, practices are set, and needs are met. They also prepare registration forms, collect them, collect money, and organize teams.

We have the following people who have graciously stepped up to coordinate these sports:

  • Soccer: Erikka Flowers (763-242-4994)
  • Baseball: James Davy (715-370-3178)
  • Softball: Sadie Ritchie (920-284-7204)
  • T-Ball: Houston Kizewski (715-881-0166)
  • Volleyball: Mariah Mork (715-570-0859)
  • Basketball: Miranda Bestul (920-915-1991)
  • Flag Football: Megan Driebel (715-281-4241)

I have noted contact numbers so if you have a passion for any of these sports and want to help keep things running smoothly you can reach out.

We are also looking for a concession coordinator to ensure we have a good concession program and volunteers to work them. If that interests you, please reach out to Miranda at 920-915-1991

Current officers

The following persons are serving as officers of the organization: Miranda Bestul and Nick Philipi share the presidency, Brenda Ivey is vice president/secretary, and Erikka Flowers is treasurer.

As you can see the organization is very limited on people willing to help run our board and keep things going. If you have any questions or things you’d like to discuss about being involved in the organization, contact Bestul at 920-915-1991.

The organization welcomes any community members to attend its meetings.
