400-YEAR TAX: The Wisconsin State Senate passed a bill on Tuesday, Nov. 18, aimed at ending Gov. Tony Evers’ 400-year extension of increased per-pupil funding in schools. The bill passed along party lines with Republican support. The debate traces back to the 2023 budget when state Republicans included a short-term increase in per-pupil funding. Gov. Evers (D-WI) used his partial veto power to extend these increases for 400 years, a move that Republicans claim exceeded his authority. Read the WKOW story here.
