IOLA PARK COMMITTEE: The Village of Iola Park Committee will meet on Wednesday, July 23, at 6 p.m. at Iola Village Hall. Agenda items include discussion of Taylor Field with the Iola-Scandinavia School District, an outline of the Olson Park Makeover Plan, an update on the Gardens, and a bake sale.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: The Scandinavia Corn Roast needs volunteers. Food, gates, and beer stand are always in need of people. IOLA HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The Iola Historical Society will hold its July membership gathering on Monday, July 28, at the Machine Shed, 222 Depot Street, where members will come together to review key projects, finalize plans for a popular fall festival, and take a nostalgic journey through a recently completed trip to Norway. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the Board of Directors meeting, followed by the general membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. A special program will commence at 7 p.m., during which attendees of the forthcoming Norway Tour will review arrangements.

SAVE THE DATES: Iola-Scandinavia Back to School Bash Family Week happening Aug. 23–29. Things kick off Saturday with a fun-filled bash featuring games, food trucks, a spelling bee, face painting, balloon animals, dunk tank, prizes, and more! The fun continues all week with a yoga night at Jorgenson Park, community-wide scavenger hunt, Library Day on Tuesday, Cones with Cops at Shivers on Wednesday, a brand-new Outdoor Movie Night at Taylor Field on Thursday, and Family Game Night at The Iola Mill on Friday. It’s a week of family fun and local pride.
