The Wisconsin State Assembly recognized one first responder from each Assembly District as First Responders of the Year. For the 87th Assembly District, State Rep. Brent Jacobson (R – Mosinee) selected Kimberly Allard, who serves as a telecommunicator for the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department. Last year, she was one of only 50 dispatchers nationwide to receive the prestigious NENA Gold Line Scholarship. Earlier this year, she successfully de-escalated a high-stakes stand-off with an armed individual experiencing a severe mental health crisis. “I am proud to recognize Telecommunicator Allard with this award,” said Rep. Jacobson. “For over a decade, she has shown tremendous dedication and unwavering professionalism in her service to the people of Waupaca County. Today’s award is a small signal of the gratitude we owe to all the first responders serving the 87th Assembly District.”
