- FIREWORKS FUNDS: The Iola Lions had 3 Brat Frys in May at Iola Sentry’s Community Brat Stand. All the proceeds go to the Iola-Scandinavia Chamber’s July 3rd fireworks display. The grand total was $1,285. Thank you Lions!
- ALL-CONFERENCE BASBEALL: Iola-Scandinavia High School’s Parker Gullixon was named to the First Team All-Conference as a catcher in the Central Wisconsin Conference East. Second Team for 1st base is Alek Rogalla. Congratulations!
- LEADERSHIP SCHOLAR: Malea Tessen, Iola-Scandinavia High School, has shown leadership as president of Student Council and has been a member of National Honors Society and DECA. Malea competed at DECA Nationals and is off to an excellent start in the pursuit of her nursing degree as she worked as a CNA in high school. For these accomplishments she has been recognized as a Joan Ballweg Leadership Scholar. “I am thrilled to honor these students with a scholarship for the leadership skills they have demonstrated at school, in their communities and churches, through volunteering or work” said Ballweg. “I look forward to seeing what these young leaders accomplish in the future.” Congratulations Malea!

- PLAYER OF YEAR: Iola-Scandinavia’s Brooklyn Berrens has been named Player of the Year by the Wisconsin Softball Coaches Association. Jaelyn Siverson was also named to the All-State First Team with Berrens. Congratulations!
