WATER HOOKUP SURVEY RESULTS: The Village of Iola’s water hook-up surveys were sent to the Birch, Sunset, and Golf Drive subdivision. The results were two yes and 21 no.  No further action will be taken regarding the hook-up request.

STREET SIGNS: The Village of Iola is compiling an inventory of faded street signs to secure the cost of replacement. A quote is also being obtained for the painting of fire hydrants.

WOODTICK TOURNEY RESULTS: Winners of Schmidt’s Corners’ annual ball tournament are Big Dawgs roofing 1st, Bear Lake Campground 2nd, and Thirsty Perch 3rd. Big Dawgs Roofing won the beer-drinking trophy.

TIGERTON FIRE: Shawano County fire departments used more than 500,000 gallons of water to extinguish a significant structure fire in Tigerton on Saturday, August 16. The Tigerton Fire Department was dispatched to the scene on Cedar Street around 6:30 p.m. The blaze prompted the activation of the 5th level of the mutual aid system, with a total of 23 fire, ambulance, and police departments responding to the emergency.

BABA TOURNAMENT TEAMS: Little Falls dominated Caroline 24-1, Clintonville beat Neopit 11-8, Eland nipped Birnamwood 4-1, and Scandinavia outpaced Plover 10-2.
