Waupaca celebrates America’s Independence Day with parade, fireworks

Waupaca’s 4th of July Celebration will be held on Thursday, July 4, with the traditional parade at 10 a.m. on Main Street and fireworks at dusk over Shadow Lake.

The parade route will begin on Mill Street at Elm Street and continue south on Main Street ending at Lake Street.

The Grand Marshal entry for 2024 will be Shindig Waupaca. Shindig was selected as the 2023 “Small Business of the Year” for the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Knights of Columbus will host their annual Chicken BBQ in Upper South Park after the parade. In addition to chicken dinners, they will also be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, and soda. Drive-through pickup will be available. They will also have their Popcorn Wagon at Lower South Park serving soda, nachos, popcorn, and cotton candy before and during the fireworks. Proceeds go to various charity organizations supported by the Knights of Columbus

Prior to the fireworks, Lakeside Parkway will be closed from 7-11 from the High Street intersection to the Waupaca Recycling Center to leave a clear path for emergency vehicles.

During the fireworks (approx. 9:30 p.m.), Lakes 92.7 will broadcast patriotic music – so be sure to tune into FM 92.7.
