A meeting of the Iola Village Personnel Committee was called to order by Chairman Jim Rasmussen at 5 p.m. Jan. 19, in the old senior citizens center room of village hall.

Present were Jim Rasmussen, Dave Harper and Chief Paul Zierler.

Those present reviewed and discussed the upcoming Iola Police Department officer job posting that was to be composed by Chief Zierler from sample postings from other departments.

The highlights specific to the Iola position are listed below:

1. Start date May 1, 2021 (approximately)

2. Starting wage $19.25 per hour, $40,040 per year.

3. Six-month review on Nov. 1, 2021

4. Due date for applications is March 1, 2021 at 5 p.m.

It was unanimously agreed for the Chief to proceed on the basis of the points listed above and the sample job postings.

Dave Harper moved to adjourn. Chairman Rasmussen provided the second. Motion carried.
