Village of Iola Board July 9 meeting covers license approvals and committee reports

The Village of Iola Board will convene for its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the Iola Village Hall’s Community Room.

The meeting will begin with the Call to Order, followed by the Open Meeting Statement, Pledge of Allegiance, and a Moment of Silence. The Roll Call will then be conducted to ensure the presence of board members.

The board will then proceed to the Open Session, allowing public presentations before moving on to the approval of minutes from previous meetings. Under Old or Unfinished Business, previous topics will be reviewed and addressed.

Key items on the agenda for New Business include the approval of a natural gas easement for Olson Park on Water Street. The board will also review and potentially approve temporary operator’s licenses for the Iola Old Car Show, scheduled from July 11-13. The individuals applying for these licenses are Linda Ann Zaborowski, Sarah Thiel, Duane J. Zaborowski, Mercedes Ritchie, Stephanie Anne Miller Doine, and Donna Marie Zaborowski. Additionally, there will be a discussion on waiving the fees for these temporary licenses.

The board will also consider the issuance of an operator’s permit for Lily Rachael Skoog, valid from July 10, 2024, to June 30, 2025. Furthermore, the retirement of Robert Vistie, effective Jan. 1, 2025, will be announced and discussed.

Committee reports will be presented, including updates from the Community Development Authority, Personnel Committee, Library Committee, Ordinance Committee, Parks and Garden Committee, Finance Committee, and Revitalization Committee. Each committee will share upcoming meeting dates and relevant updates, such as the completion of the garden shed roof and the financial report.

The meeting will conclude with board correspondence, any other business, and adjournment.
