In a high-octane Week 11 matchup in the Badger Amateur Baseball Association, the Scandinavia Vikings edged out the Plover squad 11–9 on Sunday, Aug. 3, in a game loaded with offense and momentum swings. The Vikings relied on a balanced hitting attack and timely power to secure the win and keep pace in the playoff race.
Scandinavia’s offense came alive behind standout performances from several key bats, with Caleb Bembenek leading the charge. Bembenek went 4-for-5 with three RBIs, consistently delivering clutch hits that kept the scoreboard ticking for the Vikings.
Matt Glodowski added to the offensive barrage, finishing 3-for-4, while Logan Moe contributed three hits in six at-bats to round out a relentless Vikings lineup. Braden Hunkins delivered the game’s most dramatic swing — a two-run home run — that proved to be a decisive blow in Scandinavia’s scoring efforts.
Zblewski Notches the Win
Cyle Zblewski earned the win for the Vikings, grinding through Plover’s persistent offense. Though the game turned into a slugfest, Zblewski provided the innings Scandinavia needed to stay in control, holding off a Plover lineup that refused to quit.
Plover’s offense was led by Kevin Jastromski, who tallied a strong 3-for-5 performance at the plate. Brady Houston and Jason Jones each went 1-for-3, contributing to the team’s efforts as they clawed back in the later innings. Ultimately, however, Plover’s rally came up just short.
Kaden Thauer took the loss for Plover, as the Vikings capitalized on key opportunities early and never let go of their advantage.
