Vikings dominate Weymont 18-4 in offensive showcase

The Scandinavia Vikings delivered a commanding performance on July 27, overwhelming Weymont 18-4 in a Badger Amateur Baseball Association matchup that highlighted the depth and firepower of the Vikings’ lineup.

From the opening innings, the game tilted heavily in favor of Scandinavia. The Vikings erupted early and never looked back, consistently finding gaps and driving in runs with aggressive, smart at-bats. Right-hander Cyle Zblewski earned the win on the mound, keeping the Weymont offense at bay while the Scandinavia bats took control.

Caleb Bembenek led the offensive barrage, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Bembenek wasn’t alone in delivering big hits — Matt Glodowski went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs, while Landon Moe matched that effort, posting a 2-for-3 line with two RBIs of his own.

Weymont’s bright spots came from Wyatt Wetzel and Wyatt Hamersma, who combined for four hits. Wetzel went 2-for-4, and Hamersma finished 2-for-3, but their efforts weren’t enough to rally against the Vikings’ dominant showing. Weymont starting pitcher Luke Schwenn took the loss.

With this win, Scandinavia continues to gain momentum as the regular season winds down. The Vikings will next host the Plover Pterodactyls on Aug. 3 at 3 p.m., aiming to build on their explosive performance and tighten their grip on a playoff position.
