Iola-Scandinavia Middle School’s cross-country team competed at the Wausau meet on Thursday, Sept. 26, with standout performances from both the boys’ and girls’ teams.
In the girls’ race, Nola Mae Vater delivered an impressive performance, finishing 11th out of a large field of runners with a time of 14:10.9, the top result for Iola-Scandinavia’s girls. Vater was followed by Lola Jones, who placed 41st, clocking in at 15:38.1, and Ellaina Bestul, who secured the 48th spot with a time of 16:09.8.
On the boys’ side, John Mork was the highest finisher for Iola-Scandinavia, placing 17th with a time of 13:25.1. Mork was joined by Parker Poehlman, who crossed the line in 44th place with a time of 14:26.3.
