BOOK OF THE MONTH: The Scandinavia Public Library’s Book of the Month is “West with Giraffes” by Lynda Rutledge. The group will meet on Tuesday, March 25, at 3:40 p.m. to discuss it. YOUTH EQUIPMENT SWAP: Iola-Scandinavia Recreation Association is hold an equipment swap on Tuesday, March 25, at 6 p.m. in the elementary gym.
SAVE THE DATE: Village of Iola presidential candidate Mike Richberg will have a meet-and-greet at the Iola Fire Department on Wednesday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m.
WATERCOLOR PAINTING CLASS: Caroline Rosenberger will offer a watercolor painting class on Monday, March 10, starting at 9:30 a.m. at Lessons from the At, Iola. Scene to be painted is a rustic winter landscape with snow covered fields, a weathered wooden fence in the foreground, and a distant farm framed by a forest in the background. NEW PASTOR: Rev. Gail Kenny will lead the worship service this week at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
LENTEN SERVICE: Redeemer Lutheran Church and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will hold midweek Lent Services on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. beginning Ash Wednesday, March 5. The services will run through April 16.

STATE LEGISLATIVE LISTENING SESSION: State elected officials will have a listening session in Waupaca on Thursday, March 6, at 5:30 p.m. at Waupaca City Hall. State Sen. Rachel Cabral-Guevara will be present.

FREE SPEECH SIGNAGE FIGHT: The Wisconsin Institute of Law and Liberty has sent the Village of Slinger a letter asking it to withdraw its sign ordinance enforcement after a resident was cited for displaying two signs supporting President Donald Trump. One of the signs, attached to resident Dwight Mueller’s fence, displays a bald eagle and “Trump Make America Great Again” while a sign in his yard reads “God Guns & Trump.” Read The Centre Square article here.
