AUSTEN LANE: Former Iola resident and NFL player Austen Lane will be part of the UFC Fight Night on Saturday, March 1, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lane (13-5, 1 NC) will fight Mario Pinto (9-0) of Portugal at heavyweight.
ICE RESCUE PRACTICE: According to a posting by Tracey Ambacher in I-S Happening Now on Monday, Jan. 27, there will be an ice rescue practice by the Iola and Scandinavia fire departments on Lake Iola on Friday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. It will be near the dam at Legion Park.
