RECON BOATS BUYS TUFFY: Recon Boats built in Iola are high-performance, custom-designed boats often used for reconnaissance, surveillance, and tactical operations. John Johnson has announced he has purchased Tuffy Boats. According owner John Johnson, “My plans are to bring back the most wanted models but first i need to go through each mold for cosmetic and fitment issues. I am currently working on the Esox Magnum and plan to have the first one completed by the end of August.” Congratulations!

BUDGET DEAL REACHED: Wisconsin Democratic Gov. Tony Evers and Republicans who control the state Legislature announced a deal Tuesday, July 1, on a new two-year budget that cuts income taxes, increases funding for the Universities of Wisconsin despite a threatened cut, and raises taxes to pay for transportation projects.
