I-S SCHOOL DISTRICT: At its July 14 meeting, the Iola-Scandinavia School District approved the hiring of the following employees: Dana Paplham for high school Spanish and Katie Cherek for Kindergarten.

SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE: There will be an open house for students and families at Iola-Scandinavia Elementary School and Middle/High School on Wednesday, Aug. 27, starting at 5 p.m. (4K-6th) and 5:30 p.m. (middle/high school). Families are invited to meet teachers and drop off school supplies.

SAVE THE DATE: Picture Day for I-S elementary students will be Friday, Sept. 19.
