BLOOD DRIVE: The Iola Lions and American Red Cross will host a blood drive on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Iola-Scandinavia Community Fitness and Aquatic Center from noon-5p.m. To register call 800-733-2767.

ICE AGE TRAIL HIKE-A-THON: The 36th Annual Ice Age Trail Hike-A-Thon will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 8:30-11 a.m. at the Iola Winter Sports Club grounds. Enjoy the completion of a 1.5-mile trail re-route through beautiful glacial landscape. Cost $5 per person and $15 per family.

CHESTER L. KRAUSE LEGACY PARK: The dedication of Chet’s park will be Friday, Oct. 13, with the program commencing at 1:30 p.m. The date is significant because it marks 71 years ago that Chet’s Numismatic News was published and thus started the publishing empire.

SENTRAL PARK DEDICATION: Saved the date for the Village of Scandinavia Sentral Park dedication on Sunday, Oct. 22.

TRICK OR TREAT HOURS: Halloween Trick or Treat hours are set for Sunday, Oct. 29, from 2-4 p.m.
