The Scandinavia Town Board met on Wednesday, June 9, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center and via web conference. Bryan Fuhs attended via web conference. Chairman Gary Marx called the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was seconded by Gary Marx. Motion carried.
Frank Bauer made a motion to accept Clerk’s minutes. Motion was seconded by Gary Marx. Motion carried.
Mike Mazemke provided the Treasurer’s report for May 2021. Frank Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Gary Marx. Motion carried.
Road Issues – Scott Construction is done with the overlays and we are waiting for the chip sealing. The two culverts are in on Elm Valley Road. Faulks Bros. completed filling in pots holes on designated roads. We are leasing a tractor from Riesterer & Schnel, along with the Town of Iola, to complete our ditch mowing.
Old Business
Van Dyke Junk/Salvage Yard – Town Chairman met with Waupaca County Zoning, Village of Iola, Village of Scandinavia, and City of Waupaca, discussed the Conditional Use Permit options for the salvage yard and are waiting for the application, and his mother Barbara Van Dyke to sign the application.
Humane Officer – Will continue to look for someone to fill this position. David Heise, current Humane Officer, will be retiring in June and will return $250 to the Town of Scandinavia.
Silver Lake Lanes, Inc. annual renewal of Liquor License and Annual Operators’ License
renewals were reviewed by the Board. Motion was made by Frank Bauer to approve the Annual Renewal application for Liquor License for Silver Lake Lanes, Inc at a reduced fee of $400 for 2021-22. Motion was seconded by Gary Marx. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Bryan Fuhs to approve the annual renewal of Operators’ Licenses for:
Delaney Allen, Karen Thulien, Vicky Koss, Connie Trinkner, Angela Deal, Melissa Lago, Kevin Kielblock, Bob Fredy, Lyric Shanks, and Matthew Michalak. Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer. Motion carried.
Iola Old Car Show, Inc. Temporary Liquor License application was reviewed by the Board for
the dates of July 7-11, 2021. Motion was made by Frank Bauer to approve the Temporary Liquor License for the Iola Old Car Show, Inc. as requested. Motion was seconded by Gary Marx. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Frank Bauer to approve the annual renewal of Operators’ Licenses for: Joe
Opperman, Alexandria Johnson, Michael Harbridge, Peter J. Fannin, Rick L. Viergutz, David J. Garber, Ligman, Brian Kozlowski, and Daniel Tap. Motion was second Gary Marx. Motion carried.
New Business
Frank Bauer made a motion to pass the Waupaca County Hazard Mitigation Plan/ Resolution. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (June expenses), Rural Mutual Insurance Company (annual premium), and Waupaca County-Treasurer (election), Iola Ambulance Service (second quarter assessment), Lashua Excavating, Inc (highway maintenance), Faulks Bros. Construction, Inc. (highway maintenance), Scott Construction, Inc. (highway maintenance), Rent-a-Flash (highway maintenance), and Multi Media Channels, LLC (notices). Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Correspondence from the following was reviewed – Land Use Permit Applications from Dale Torrey, Randolph Stuczynski, Steven Duberstein, and Timothy Hoyord.
The July 2021 Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 14, at 5:30pm at the Scandinavia Municipal Center.
